Feds announce over $26,000 to help Islamic Centre of Cambridge with security costs

The Government of Canada is looking to help the Islamic Centre of Cambridge with a grant worth $26,072.83 for security costs.

Cambridge MP Bryan May made the announcement on Wednesday, on behalf of the Hon. Ralph Goodale, Minister for Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness.

The grant will got towards security infrastructure at the Islamic Centre of Cambridge to help cover construction and hardware costs associated with strengthening security, and allowing the Centre to perform security assessments.

Funding was provided by the Security Infrastructure Program (SIP).

SIP is a funding program that helps communities at risk of hate-motivated crime.
