U-W grad. coming out of retirement to compete in 2018 Olympics

Heather Moyse may have a shot at a third straight gold medal in bobsleigh.

She announced in a YouTube video on Monday that she’s coming out of retirement to compete at the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang.

Moyse says her focused switched in August after receiving an email from a development driver.

“It’s not about me winning another, another Olympic medal, but it is exciting at the thought of potentially helping someone else win their first.”

Moyse, who is now 39, says she has to earn her right to be on the team.

She’s been dealing with a back issue since June, but Team Canada therapists have assured her it’s just an alignment issue and shouldn’t be a problem.

Something that should help Moyse on the track, she has been doing some motivational speaking recently and also has a book due out in November.

Moyse and Kaillie Humphries won back to back gold in Vancouver and Sochi.
