Regional Police are out with a warning to homeowners in the Galt Area of Cambridge and the Borden Avenue area of Kitchener.
It comes after reports of a suspicious man knocking on doors asking homeowners if he can clean their eavestroughs.
Police say the man acts aggressively and seems to target women who live alone.
They say he may be responsible for a break-in to one home where the owner refused him work.
The man is described as white, 40 to 50 years old, 5’7 with a thin build, short brown hair and light facial scruff.
Investigators are urging any potential victims and witnesses to come forward.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
