Local MPP launches not one, but two petitions

By cceolin

The MPP for Kitchener-Conestoga has launched two petitions he hopes won’t fall on deaf ears at Queen’s Park.

Michael Harris says the first petition addresses the gridlock residents face trying to book a road test in the Region.

Officials at Harris’s office tell 570 NEWS they receive up to three complaints every week about the lengthy delays to take an MTO licensing test.

They say many constituents have wasted days waiting in line, forcing them to camp outside the office before it opens in order to be served.

The second petition has to do with expanding access to registered service dogs, so that people who require a service dog don’t face difficulty accessing public places.

Harris says he looks forward to reading the petitions when the legislature resumes next week.
