An anti-fascism rally and solidarity vigil is planned for this afternoon at 12 p.m., according to a new Facebook group.
The organization called “Kitchener-Waterloo Against Fascism” says the rally and vigil will take place at Waterloo Public Square.
It comes after the death of 32-year-old Heather Heyer, who was killed while demonstrating against white nationalists in Charlottsville, Virginia a week ago.
Heyer was killed when a car plowed into a crowd. Overall, three people lost their lives and more than 30 were injured during the clashes.
The group says its “dedicated to combating fascism in all its forms by any means necessary.”
