Region’s paramedics ratify new deal

The union representing the region’s paramedics say they have ratified a tentative agreement after two days of voting.
Officials say they are now awaiting ratification of the new deal by Regional Council, who are expected to make their decision shortly.
Members of Local 5191 voted last month to take strike action if a deal could not be reached between the two sides.
Details of the agreement won’t be released until it is ratified by both parties.
