Over 1,000 students suspended for not having immunization records up-to-date

Over 1,000 elementary students from both the public and Catholic boards in Waterloo Region have been suspended from school for having out of date immunization records.

Public Health says they sent out the notices today and add parents still have an opportunity to update their children’s records.

Providing up-to-date records or receiving overdue immunizations will end the suspension and children will be allowed to head back to class.

Public Health offers clinics in both their Cambridge and Waterloo offices and a list of walk-in clinics can be found on the Region of Waterloo Public Health website.
