It’s the moment of truth for a trio of Laurier Golden Hawks.
Kwaku Boateng, Jalen Price, and Nakas Onyeka are making the trip to Regina, SK, looking to make one last impression on coaches and general managers ahead of the CFL Draft.
Boateng enters the combine as the sixth-ranked prospect in the country, after a season in which the fourth-year defensive lineman became Laurier’s all-time sacks leader with 20.5.
For the Milton, ON native, the experience is both exciting and nerve-wracking.
“Just getting a chance to go to a place like Saskatchewan where football [and the] CFL is so popular, I think it’s going to be a great experience,” says Boateng.
Onyeka, a linebacker from Brampton, ON, is listed among the CFL’s top 20 prospects.
Along with fellow defensive lineman Price, the threesome helped lead the Hawks to their first Yates Cup title since 2005.
