A possible restructuring at Canadian Solar in Guelph is rumored to result in job losses.
570 News has obtained a memo that was sent to all employees on Thursday, the memo states “the restructuring affects production team members,” and thanks them for their service.
It’s not clear how many people will be affected, the memo also states a “transition centre” will be set up to “answer questions and assist employees.”
A former employee, who would like to remain anonymous, has reached out to 570 News and says the company has been laying off employees since April of this year due to a shortage of work.
The man goes on to say 40 employees have left every month since April, claiming 120 employees were laid off on Thursday, including himself.
570 News has been reaching out to the plant for a comment since early Friday afternoon.
