The City of Cambridge is hopping on board to bid for the 2021 Canada Summer Games.
City councillors voted unanimously to endorse a regional bid, this after Waterloo and Guelph have already shown interest.
Councillor Frank Monteiro tells The Record he hopes by then “we will have more than Hespeler Arena.”
The City of Kitchener has yet to vote on whether to join the bid, but is expected to do so in the coming weeks.
The Games are billed as Canada’s largest multi-sport games.
