3,000 local high school students face suspension for not having immunizations up to date

Over 3,000 suspension orders will be handed out by Waterloo Region Public Health this week to secondary students who still do not have their immunization records up to date.

These suspension orders will take effect on May 11th.

In late 2015 and early 2016, Public Health mailed over 9,000 notices to secondary students.

In early April around 900 elementary students were suspended for not having up to date records.

Public Health urges students or parents of students who received notices to update immunizations at walk in clinics in the region.

A list of clinics can be found here.
