Waterloo backs bid for Canada Summer Games in 2021

Waterloo is getting behind a bid for the region to host the Canada Summer Games in 2021.
Councillors endorsed a letter of intent at their council meeting on Monday night.
The Regional Sport Tourism Office is also asking for the support of Kitchener, Cambridge and Guelph.
RSTO is putting up the $20,000 needed to submit the letter of intent. It has to be submitted by May 20th.
Kitchener is expected to discuss the letter at its council meeting on May 2nd.
If short listed, the region would need to have the official bid in by January 31, 2017.
