Controversial statue project is heading to Baden

A controversial topic in our region, has to been put to rest.
The Statue Project has found a home.
Statues of our past Prime Ministers that were supposed to be erected in Victoria Park and then Wilfrid Laurier, are heading to Baden.
Mayor Les Armstrong says it was a unanimous decision to put them up on the grounds around Castle Kilbride.
It’s all township land. James Livingston, who built Castle Kilbride, was an 18-year member of parliament. And the fact that it doesn’t cost the tax-payers any money; makes it even more appropriate.”
In March 2014, Kitchener city council unanimously rejected the proposal
In June 2015, shortly after the project was approved the University voted to stop it, after a petition.
The project starts with all 22 of our past Prime Ministers.
