Local entrepreneur creates “Uber” of snow removal with MowGOSnowGO app

Winter has officially hit our region, that means we have to start worrying about clearing snow at our homes and local businesses.
A local entrepreneur is hoping to help after creating an app called MowGOSnowGO.
The free app works similar to Uber, users can hire a local snow clearing or lawn mowing professional to come to your home or business.
All you have to do is download the app, type in your address and the clearing you want done, and a professional will arrive at your doorstep with assistance.
Wilfrid Laurier University student and Guelph native, Jason McCann created the app, he says his app is great for busy families.
“A lot of people these days are only looking for a job done when there is a huge snowfall. A lot of people don’t want to get into contracts anymore, so the on-demand part is perfect for people that are busy.”
He says even though we haven’t had too much snow this season, business is still doing well.
“Right now, everyone that uses it absolutely loves it, so we’re getting tons of jobs; and hopefully we’ll get more in the future for big snow falls. This winter hasn’t really been that great for snow falls, so hopefully we get more as time goes on.”
The app serves Guelph, Kitchener, Waterloo, and Cambridge.
McCann says he hopes to expand to other areas soon.
