THEMUSEUM in downtown Kitchener is taking a look into the future.
A new exhibition called Fast Forward Waterloo Region features the work of 20 local artists asked to visualize what Waterloo region will look like in 50 years.
The exhibit depicts themes of food security, urban development, transit and culture.
The works range from a live market stand, to interactive video elements.
Terre Chartrand is the artistic director of “Collective Identity” the group behind the artwork, she says the exhibit is an opportunity to showcase local artists, and give a stage for their innovative ideas for the future of Waterloo Region.
“What we are aiming to do is show the massive amounts of types of arts that are made in Waterloo Region and showcase them in a way that reflects how we want to move forward as a community who makes art.”
Fast Forward Waterloo Region runs until October 4, 2015.
