Approximately 1,500 votes cast in advanced polls in Waterloo

The advanced polls for the Kitchener election have been open since Wednesday and many have headed out already to exercise their right to vote.

Waterloo residents can cast their votes today at either Rim Park, The Waterloo Recreation Complex or the Waterloo Public Library (Harper branch.)

City clerk Olga Smith tells 570 News that people of all ages have already taken advantage of the advanced poll.

It’s been a mix even at the universities … there were some faculty and other people that are actually outside of the university that came to take advantage of the advanced poll before the Thanksgiving weekend.

1,360 had already voted at last check and the number is growing. That tally was taken at about 5:30 p.m. Thursday and polls were open until 8 p.m.

Polls are also open Saturday from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

More information on where and when to vote is available on the City of Waterloo’s website.
