Former financial advisor pleads guilty to fraud

A former Waterloo-based financial advisor has pleaded guilty to four counts of fraud.

Jennifer Killins made the plea yesterday in a Kitchener court, in connection to complaints received by Waterloo Regional Police when she operated the Dollars and Sense Financial Group.

The value of the fraud is estimated at almost $1.5-million.

CTV reports, the agreed statement of facts included Killins taking out personal loans in her clients’ names without informing them, redeeming money from clients’ RRSP’s without them knowing, and fraudulently using one victim’s credit card.

She’s expected to be sentenced in September.
