TV Blog Buzz: Perry on quitting ‘Friends,’ Cranston answers fan questions

By Michael Oliveira, The Canadian Press

Fans of “Inside the Actors Studio” will love this hour-long roundtable posted by the Hollywood Reporter, with Matthew Perry, Jim Parsons, Eric Stonestreet, Fred Armisen, Adam Scott and Jake Johnson trading behind-the-scenes stories about their shows. They talk about how much improvising they do, what control they have over their characters, and the trouble with interacting with overzealous fans. Stick around for Perry’s self-deprecating take on why quitting “Friends” was a huge mistake. “Why in the world did we stop? We all decided, ‘You know what, let’s stop.’ I’d love to get in a time machine right now and go, ‘Let’s not stop,'” says Perry (around the 20-minute mark). http://bit.ly/1c02gKN

Prepare to be jealous, “Arrested Development” fans. Did you hear about the #ADNarrates hashtag? Netflix hinted that fans who tweeted with that hashtag had the chance to have their post read aloud or riffed on by the show’s executive producer and narrator, Ron Howard. The results are nearly as hilarious as the show itself. http://bit.ly/15naRDM

There were a couple of top-notch AMAs for TV fans on Reddit in the past week. For the uninitiated, AMA stands for Ask Me Anything. The popular web forum regularly hosts Q&A sessions with famous or otherwise fascinating personalities who promise to answer questions submitted by users. “Arrested Development” creator Mitch Hurwitz teased about what a future season might hold, explained the origins of the Never Nude affliction, and dropped all kinds of little insider-y tidbits. http://bit.ly/1c02T7d

The very funny Bryan Cranston also held court for his own AMA to answer questions about the looming end of “Breaking Bad.” He answers some offbeat questions (for example, who would win a fight between Frankie Muniz or Aaron Paul?), explains how Paul’s Jesse character was never supposed to survive past the first season, and his odd connection to the “Power Rangers.” http://bit.ly/14l1PrS
