Search on in Jasper National Park for Ontario man who wanted to live in woods

JASPER, Alta. – RCMP and Parks Canada officials in Alberta are searching for an Ontario man who wrote a note saying he was going into the wilderness.
Police say items belonging to Michael Montgomery, 29, have been found in the Pyramid Mountain area in Jasper National Park north of the townsite.
Montgomery was last seen by family on May 22 in Mississauga, Ont. Parks Canada and RCMP have been searching for him in the Jasper area since May 29.
“He told his family that he was going to live in the woods,” Cpl. Ryan Gardiner said Tuesday. “We don’t know for sure whether he has outdoor gear with him.”
Montgomery is described as being five-foot-six-inches tall and weighing 180 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes, is right-handed and has a scar on his head.
He may be wearing sweat pants, a hoodie and black shoes.
An investigation determined that Montgomery took a Greyhound bus from Toronto to Jasper and arrived on May 25.
Police say it’s possible he is no longer in the Jasper area.
RCMP are urging anyone who may have information about his whereabouts to call police.
