3 of 4 Rangers return from NHL camps

The Kitchener Rangers lineup is bolstered with word three of four players invited to NHL training camps have now been returned to the OHL club.

John Gibson is back from Anaheim, Frank Corrado has been returned from Vancouver and Radek Faksa is back from Dallas.

We are still awaiting word on Ryan Murphy’s status.

The Rangers captain is with Carolina and judging from comments made by Hurricanes’ President and General Manager Jim Rutherford, he may be back soon.

Rutherford tells Sportsnet 590 The FAN, “He’s looked good in camp,” however, it looks like they are only going to carry seven defencemen.

If that is the case, Rutherford says “he would probably go back to junior.”

He stresses, “we’re real happy with how he played” and “a little more experience there is not going to hurt him.”

Word on Murphy’s status could come as early as today.

On another front, forward Matt Puempel is expected back tonight from his shoulder injury.

The Rangers host Brampton. 570 News has the call, starting with the pre-game show at 7pm.
