Bieber a difficult neighbour, say Hollywood couple Kristen Bell, Dax Shepard

While millions of teenage girls would love to get close to Justin Bieber, two of his real-life neighbours have had enough.

Engaged Hollywood couple Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell vented on “The View” this week about the challenges of living next to the 18-year-old teen-pop superstar from Stratford, Ont.

During the light-hearted interview, Shepard said he and Bell went to see Bieber’s 2011 concert film “Never Say Never” because they were friends with the movie’s director, Jon Chu.

They became fans of the “Boyfriend” crooner, too — until he started renting the house behind them.

“Didn’t I fall in love with Justin Bieber during that documentary? I had cried and laughed 90 times within the first five minutes. I left with complete Bieber fever,” said the 37-year-old Shepard, best-known for his roles on “Parenthood” and “Punk’d.”

“Cut to Biebs moves in behind us…. And the music and the parties and the paparazzi. It’s like living in Lebanon now.”

Bell initially demured when the hosts of the television gabfest labelled the relationship a “love-hate feud,” before she conceded: “There’s a little bit of hate.”

Shepard was asked whether he’s gone over to ask his new neighbour to keep it down.

“I know myself well enough — once I go over to the neighbour’s house, all hell’s breaking loose,” he said, shaking his head.

“It’s best that I don’t get myself in those situations to begin with. I’m the sheriff of the neighbourhood.”

Bell, meanwhile, tried to be sympathetic to Bieber, pointing out that the couple couldn’t be completely sure he was the one responsible for the racket.

“We just know since he moved in, the music has been blaring,” said the 32-year-old star of “Forgetting Sarah Marshall,” “Veronica Mars” and “House of Lies.”

“And it’s not like super late-night parties, it’s just a lot of music, all the time. But the paparazzi thing is really annoying because that’s not our thing.”

There might, however, be hope. Shepard said the couple got a brief respite from the noise after he brought the situation up to a reporter during a red-carpet interview recently.

“I said, ‘This guy’s ruining our lives with the music and the partying.’ Darned if the music didn’t stop that night!

“Someone in his camp must have read this.”

Of course, Bieber has had reason to celebrate recently.

His second full-length “Believe” topped the charts in Canada, the U.S., and around the world.

On Friday, he teased on Twitter that the video for his new single, “As Long As You Love Me,” would be released Wednesday.
