Ontario’s celebrated groundhog, Wiarton Willie, did not see his shadow, Thursday, which means an early spring is on its way.
Nova Scotia’s Shubenacadie Sam also had the same prediction; however, Pennsylvania’s Punxsutawney Phil predicted six more weeks of winter.
Citytv’s “Breakfast Television” co-host Kevin Frankish was in Wiarton, Ont., for the ceremony and announcement.
Legend has it that if the weather prognosticating marmots see their shadows, we’re in for at least six more weeks of winter.
Human weather experts say the groundhogs will be trying to predict the end of something that hasn’t even started.
