Charlie Sheen tour comes to hogtown

TORONTO, Ont. – Charlie Sheen said he’s looking forward to “winning” with Torontonians when his “Violent Torpedo of Truth” tour hits Massey Hall, Thursday night, the first of two nights.

The 45-year-old actor gave an exclusive interview to Rogers’ music station KiSS 92.5.

Wearing a bicycle helmet rigged with a Flip camera on top, Maurie Sherman — known as “Planet Maurie,” the producer of KiSS 92.5’s Roz and Mocha show — waited for Sheen outside a downtown hotel for several hours Wednesday night.

“Does this helmet make me look like a winner?” Sherman asked the actor.

“Yes, it does, actually,” Sheen replied.

Sherman and told 680News his strategy paid off. “He’s eccentric enough, quirky enough, that he would just absolutely love the head cam, and he waves me over and he’s a really nice guy,” he said.

Sheen told Sherman he plans to honour a request from North York widow Wendy Newman, who asked on Facebook if her favorite actor would raise a glass to honour her husband if she brought his ashes to the show Thursday. Sheen said “that has to happen.”

The full interview with Sheen was aired on KiSS 92.5 on Thursday.

As for the first show tonight, the wily warlock is expected to appear onstage with his “goddess” girlfriends, to be followed by what he calls a “Sheen-ius” after-party at the club Muzik.

Sheen launched his tour to brutal reviews and many demanding refunds earlier in April in Detroit. Since then, he’s been experimenting with a Q&A and things have improved.

Tickets are sold out for Thursday night’s show, but tickets are still available for Friday night.
