Police look for suspects in alleged sex assault

Waterloo Regional Police are investigating an alleged abduction and sexual assault in downtown Kitchener.

They say it happened yesterday afternoon, around 1:30, on Scott Street.

A 15-year old girl reports being approached by an unknown suspect who forced her into a silver car driven by a second suspect.

She was then allegedly sexually assaulted in the back seat.

Spokesperson Olaf Heinzel tells 570 News police are appealing to the public for any information on suspicious activity that may have been seen in the Scott Street area Tuesday afternoon.

The suspects are described as dark-skinned males in their late 20s or 30s. The first suspect was thin, approximately 5’10” with shoulder length hair in dreads. The second suspect was approximately 5’3″ with lighter brown hair. The victim was later released.

Heinzel says at this point police are unsure whether this was a random or targeted attack but it does not appear as though the victim knew her attackers. Anyone with information is asked to call the Major Case Unit at  519-650-8500 ext. 8677 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
