The Premier is in town today, starting a local tour with a photo op in front of a different kind of camera.

Dalton McGuinty visited the Kitchener headquarters of Miovision this morning, a company that makes special cameras and software for traffic management studies.

CEO of the Accelerator Centre, Tim Jackson, attended the visit, saying the Premier visited Miovision to see the first big success story to come out of his high-tech incubator, which receives significant funding from the province.

Miovision CEO and Co-founder, Kurtis McBride tells 570 News his company is now up to 44 employees with clients in 18 different countries.

Premier McGuinty also toured the newly constructed Pope John Paul II elementary school on Pebblecreek Drive in Kitchener.

He says part of the reason Ontario hasn't met its student test score targets for reading, writing and math is because our standards are higher than most other provinces and countries.

This year's scores show only 68 per cent of students are meeting the standard, which is up from 67 last year, but still well below the 75 per cent target.

McGuinty says that in other parts of the country and the world, the standard is only a pass or fail.
