401 crash sends toddler to hospital with serious injuries

570 News Mar 15, 2010 03:28:34 AM
A two-year-old boy is in hospital with life threatening injuries following a crash along the 401 between Homer Watson and Cedar Creek Road.
OPP say he was in a car with three other people that was rear-ended just after 5:00 p.m. Sunday.
The other passengers, believed to be a family from Petersburg, were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the other vehicle, a 39-year-old Woodstock man, was treated in hospital for minor injuries.
The crash closed the westbound lanes until 10:30 p.m. Sunday.
OPP are still investigating and trying to determine why the car transporting the family slowed down so rapidly in the middle lane.
They're appealing to any witnesses to contact them.
