Seiling to run in fall election

570 News/The Record Mar 10, 2010 05:57:38 AM
25 years as Chair of Waterloo Region is not enough for Ken Seiling.
He wants to serve at least four more years.
Seiling recently filed his papers to run in October's municipal election.
So far, the 62-year-old is the only declared candidate for head of the region.
Seiling tells today's Record he thinks "this community is one that places a value on experience" and he's "prepared to offer that.”
His decision to seek re-election to a post he's held since 1985 puts to rest rumours he planned to retire.
He says there's unfinished business, including rapid transit and public housing.
Seiling began his political career in 1976 when he was elected as a Woolwich Township councillor.
