10 delegations spoke at a public meeting hosted by the Region's Administration and Finance Committee last night.
9 of them spoke out against the proposed question as it stands now that will be placed on the October Municipal Election ballot in the City of Waterloo.
Many complained the question: "Should the Region of Waterloo continue to fluoridate your municipal water?" is not clear, concise or even as neutral as it needs to be in accordance with the Municipal Elections Act.
Residents stated that the word fluoride should be replaced with what it really is - hydrofluorosilicic acid.
Regional Council will vote on the proposed question at their April 14th meeting after a staff report goes to committee on April 6th.
