Sexual assault allegations unfounded

Regional police say a reported sexual assault over the weekend in Waterloo Park did not happen.
Police say a 19-year-old Hamilton woman claimed to have been assaulted early Sunday after leaving a bar in the downtown.  
Police say further investigation has determined no sexual assault took place and the allegations were false.
They say the woman is receiving counselling in the wake of this case and warn false allegations can have a negative impact on the community.
