KMH's Hockey for Health

Blair Adams Feb 04, 2012 06:00:00 AM
Pretty much all of the teams with Kitchener Minor Hockey will be on the ice this weekend to support a good cause.

The first 24 Hour Hockey For Health starts today at noon at the Activa Sportsplex.

Donations raised will go to St. Mary's Cardiac Centre and the Cancer Centre at Grand River.

You can donate HERE.

The tournament wraps up at 2pm on Sunday.

There is also a competition among the teams on which one can raise the most money.

"The only teams that won't (play in the tournament) are if they have playoff games, otherwise every child from KMH will be playing in this." said Michael Saunders, Director of Sponsorship for Kitchener Minor Hockey.

"I personally will be surprised if we don't top the $40,000 mark." added Saunders.

Saunders get the early wake-up call as his son plays in the 2am game on Sunday.
