7/8 closed for 4 hours after crash

The Cambridge OPP Detachment is investigating a two vehicle collision that occurred on Hwy 7/8 near Trussler Road.

The crash happened just after 1 o'clock.

A Toyota Camry motor vehicle collided with a waste removal truck.

The female driver of the Camry was transported to Grand River Hospital with serious injuries and later transferred to Hamilton General Hospital in critical condition.

The male driver of the truck was transported to St. Mary's Hospital with minor injuries, treated and released.

All lanes were re-opened just before 5:00 pm.
