Horwath ahead in latest poll

John Stall Sep 29, 2011 10:46:58 AM
Ontarians are one week from election day and while indications are there was no clear-cut winner in Tuesday's leader's debate, the latest poll suggests it's NDP Leader Andrea Horwath who has the momentum.

The Angus Reid poll for the Toronto Star found that even though Horwath was not seen as a "strong and decisive leader,"  she came out ahead on being the most honest, trustworthy, understanding and believable.

According to Angue Reid, those who were surveyed used push-button technology to register gut reaction to what they were hearing and seeing.

The interpretation is that Horwath drew attention to her self in a positive way, from women in particular.

On the campaign trail Thursday, Dalton McGuinty begins in Pickering, then travels through Cambridge Thursday afternoon and on to London by Thursday night.

Tim Hudak will spend the day in Ottawa while Horwath will spend Thursday in Toronto.
