Wild weather in the region

570News Sep 04, 2011 06:57:36 AM
Some wild weather ripped through the region yesterday causing damage and injuries.

Around 3 o'clock a storm hit the St. Jacobs area ripping down tents at the Farmers Market. The Weather Network reports that five people were injured.

Regional Police say they responded to heavy damage in Heidelberg. Police say Kressler Road was closed around Lobsinger Line for about two hours as crews cleaned up downed trees and hydro lines.

Police are reminding people to treat all downed power lines as live and to call for assistance if you see them.

The Homer Watson and Bleams area and the Doon Village area were reportedly hit hard as well.
