Record breaking temperatures

570 News Jul 21, 2011 15:36:45 PM
The heat is not letting up and because of it we have broken a record for the hottest July 21st in Waterloo Region.

The Temperature reached 35 degrees earlier this afternoon according to Environment Canada with a humidex of 47.

That smashes a record set in 2005 of 32 degrees.

The hottest day ever in the region was set in 1941 it was 38.3 degrees.

The Extreme temperatures have prompted Environment Canada to post a weather warning.

They say combining the record setting temperatures with the high humidity will result in oppressive humidex values in the mid forties across all of Southern Ontario this afternoon.
