‘Tis the season! Christmas tree arrives at Kitchener City Hall

Thousands of lights have been strung around a massive Christmas tree outside Kitchener City Hall.

The tree was erected Tuesday morning as part of an annual tradition.

The tree was brought in from the Forest Heights area and donated by Lara McCabe and family.

“It’s my tenth time doing it. It’s fun! It’s fun doing it” says Kevin Hastings, City Forester. “It’s the time of the season right. Christmas cheer, I guess. But it’s always enjoyable doing it.”

After the Christmas season is over, the tree will be mulched and used on city gardens.
