Neelu Kapur and her big smile saved my life on my first day of high school. We had just moved from Kanata to Brampton ( Bramalea…for the locals) and our house wasn’t finished yet. We ended up living in the Holiday Inn for the first two weeks. I didn’t know a soul. On Day One, I sat in the commons of my new school and remember watching this blur go by me. Out of the fast moving crowd came Neelu. Neelu grabbed my arm, said hi.. and escorted me to our homeroom. She became my desk buddy in Geography, and my lunchtime entertainment. Even in grade 13, she had the best stories. This morning… our oldest hits high school for the first time. A new adventure. Another milestone. A day that will be filled with a mix of old and new faces. Thank you to all those Neelus out there. lisa
