Biography
A leader in the computer vision field, Kurtis is the driven entrepreneur responsible for Miovision Technologies' sales and technological vision. Prior to joining Miovision, Kurtis held positions in product management, product marketing, product development and software design at Nortel Networks and Cypress Semiconductor, as well as nine years of experience in the traffic data consulting field. Kurtis holds a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Systems Design Engineering from the University of Waterloo and also a Master of Applied Science from the University of Waterloo. His Masters thesis focused on video analytics applications in the traffic industry.

Miovision Technologies Incorporated provides video and web-based technologies for traffic engineers, municipal and provincial governments and traffic data collection firms.  Miovision’s provides an automated intersection count technology that produces verifiably accurate data, greatly simplifies the process of collecting the data and significantly reduces the costs associated with manual collection. Miovision’s web product, Traffic Data Online, grants access to this automation and streamlines the process of reporting and managing traffic data.
Miovision is based in Waterloo, Ontario, one of Canada's hotbed technology centres and home of two of Canada's top universities – University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University. Waterloo is also the home of a vibrant technology community that includes Research In Motion, Sandvine Inc., and Open Text Corporation. Miovision is formally affiliated with Waterloo’s Research and Technology Park and the Accelerator Centre. In addition, Miovision has close working relationship with many of University of Waterloo’s computer vision researches.
