Flags are flying at half mast in Wingham this morning as thousands of officers from across the country are expected for the funeral of OPP Constable Vu Pham.

Waterloo Regional Police Chief Matt Torigian will be attending along with some of his senior staff.

A busload of officers from our region will also be heading to the service.

Torigian tells 570 News it's important for them to go and show support for an officer who gives their life to save someone else.

He says they need to stand together as a reminder of what they all work towards, a safe and peaceful community.

Around 70 officers with Waterloo Regional Police attended the funeral for Peel Constable James Ochakovsky on Tuesday.

Today's funeral for Pham will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the North Huron Wescast Community Complex in Wingham.
