CALGARY - Carbon capture and the state of the economy topped the agenda when Prime Minister Stephen Harper met with Calgary business leaders Monday.

Cal Nichols, chairman of the Alberta Enterprise Group, said they also talked about how long stimulus funds should continue.

He said everyone agreed the money can't last forever, but it appears current and planned programs are to continue.

Doug Mitchell, co-chairman of a Calgary law firm, said specific requests for the upcoming budget were not discussed.

He said there's a positive mood among business leaders even though Canada's economic recovery is still fragile.

Harper didn't speak to reporters before heading off to another budget discussion with politicians.
