Stampede Corral closes doors for good Saturday

A Kitchener country bar will make its final call Saturday.

After 35 years, the Stampede Corral can no longer remain open.

In a Facebook post that has been shared nearly 3,000 times with over a thousand comments of support, owner Andrew Mackay says they were unable to keep the independent nightclub open as they were dealing with a “very unfavourable lease ending and a landlord that would sooner see the space empty than charge a reasonable rate.”

He adds in his post that, “This is very sad news for all of us but I particularly feel bad for the current staff, the bands that play there and of course for the customers.”

The Kitchener staple has been independently owned since June of 1983, and one of Kitchener’s most popular country bars for over three decades.
