By cceolin

A medical emergency is likely to have caused a crash that saw a transport truck drive into a building in Kitchener, Monday night.

Regional Police say the truck was travelling down Trillium Drive near Conestoga Cold Storage around 7:30 p.m., and headed towards Homer Watson, when it left the roadway and hit a building off Trillium.

Police say they believe the driver and lone occupant — a 61-year-old Brantford man — suffered a medical problem while driving.

He was taken to a local hospital in serious condition.

Damage to the building and truck is minor.

Nobody else was hurt in the crash.
