70-year-old man arrested after pair of attempted child abductions: Guelph Police

An arrest has been made after a pair of disturbing incidents involving kids in Guelph.

Public Education Officer Josh Frasier says Guelph Police started investigating in late May, after reports that a man attempted to lure at 10-year-old boy into his vehicle near Alice and Huron Streets.

“Then on June 2nd, Guelph Police commenced an investigation into a man attempting to lure a 12-year-old girl into his vehicle in the area of Willow and Dawson Roads.”

Frasier says through an investigation, a 70-year-old Rockwood man has now been arrested.

He faces charges including attempted abduction of a minor, and breaching a probation order.

No other details about his identity have been released, but police say he is expected to appear in Guelph court on June 8th.
