Over $100,000 raised during local Ride for Dad

Another successful Grand River Ride for Dad has raised over $109,000 for prostate cancer research and awareness.

Almost 550 motorcycle enthusiasts participated in the 15th annual ride on Saturday, June 2nd.

The riders made stops in Waterloo, Guelph, Wilmot Township and Cambridge during the 130 km tour.

Since 2004, the Grand River Ride for Dad has now raised over $1.6 million.

“Prostate cancer is 90 percent curable if caught early,” said Dave Mathes, Co-Chair of the Grand River Motorcycle Ride for Dad chapter.

“The more the community is aware and educated about prostate cancer, the less chance there is to lose the men in our lives to this terrible disease. The Motorcycle Ride for Dad not only raises funds to fight this disease, but it also gives men and their families a reason to talk about it.”

The 2019 Ride for Dad will take place on Saturday, June 1st.
