Sinkhole shuts down stretch of Paisley Road in Guelph until Wednesday

A major closure in Guelph thanks to a major sinkhole on Paisley Road.

City staff got word early Tuesday morning that a nearly foot-long sinkhole opened up between Silvercreek Parkway and Sleeman Avenue.

Thankfully, no one was injured, and there were no subsequent crashes.

Crews opened up the roadway for an investigation and assessment, and The City of Guelph says buses in the area have been re-routed as a result, but sidewalks on Paisley remain open at this time.

The sinkhole has been repaired – but asphalt work will continue into Wednesday morning.
