Regional Police charge 60-year old Waterloo man; students say he threatened them with crossbow

A charge of “Possession of a Weapon For a Dangerous Purpose” has been laid against a Waterloo man after some high school students told police they’d been threatened with a crossbow.

According to Regional Police, this happened around noon yesterday near Bridgeport and the Expressway.

They say some students from Bluevale Collegiate Institute got into a verbal altercation with a man who lives near the school.

The students told school staff and police the man had brandished a crossbow.

A 60-year old man has been arrested and charged.
