Rangers to host three teams in preseason showcase

Some bonus hockey for Kitchener Rangers fans before the 2018-19 season gets underway.

The team announced Tuesday they will host a four-team preseason showcase from August 31 to September 2 at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium.

The Rangers will play the North Bay Battalion and Saginaw Spirit of the OHL, as well as the QMJHL’s Moncton Wildcats.

Each team will play each other once over the course of the weekend.

Friday, August 31

Saginaw Spirit vs. North Bay Battalion – 2:00 p.m.
Moncton Wildcats vs. Kitchener Rangers – 7:00 p.m.

Saturday, September 1

Moncton Wildcats vs. North Bay Battalion – 2:00 p.m.
Saginaw Spirit vs. Kitchener Rangers – 7:00 p.m.

Sunday, September 2

Moncton Wildcats vs. Saginaw Spirit – 11:00 a.m.
North Bay Battalion vs. Kitchener Rangers – 2:00 p.m.

A fan fest and BBQ will also take place at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday.

Tickets are $5.00 a game and $10 for a weekend pass. Tickets will go on sale starting Monday, August 20 (presale) at the Kitchener Rangers business office.

They’ll also be available at the door on game days, but the team says it’s cash only.

The team adds all proceeds from the weekend will go towards the Children’s Wish Foundation.
