A Guelph man has been arrested and charged in connection with a series of licence plate, gas, and hardware store thefts around the Royal City.
Guelph Police started investigating earlier this month after several plates were reported stolen on May 6th, and the next day, a vehicle sporting one of them was used in a ‘pump and run’ gas theft on Imperial Road.
A few days later, that same car was involved in two hardware store thefts – and through further investigation, officers determined the same man was also responsible for another hardware store theft back in April.
A search warrant was executed at a home on McCorkindale Place on Thursday, and there was a large police presence in the area for most of the day.
Police say a 34-year-old man was arrested, and faces charges including theft and possession of stolen property.
