Nine-figure work contract awarded to Cambridge company

Great news today from the City of Cambridge.

BWX-Tech has been given a contract that the city says will secure many jobs in both engineering and skilled labour through the year 2030.

BWXT has been awarded a $642-million dollar contract to Supply Steam Generators for Bruce Power’s Life Extension Program.

“The steam generator contract allows us to secure very long-term work for our Cambridge, Ontario facility, which sustains jobs for many of our highly skilled and talented employees for many years to come,” BWXT Canada President John MacQuarrie states in a release.

“The life extension of Bruce Power’s nuclear reactors is vital to the supply of clean, low-cost and reliable power for Ontarians, and we are so proud to be part of this project.”
