Police investigating alleged stabbing death of Kitchener man

Waterloo Regional Police say a 22-year-old man from Kitchener died of stab wounds at a Kitchener home early Sunday morning.

Police responded to reports of an altercation at a residence on Kenora Drive, which is in the Stanley Park area, shortly after midnight, and found a man who had allegedly been stabbed.

Inspector Mike Haffner says the man was transported to a local hospital but died of his injuries around 3 a.m.

A 22-year-old Kitchener man has since been arrested.

Police believe this was a targeted attack, and say the victim and suspect were known to each other.

The suspect was to appear in court for a bail hearing on Sunday.
