Special weather statement still in effect; freezing rain expected

Waterloo Region, Wellington County and surrounding areas remain under a special weather statement this morning.
Environment Canada warns of a potential brief spell of freezing rain this morning.
That threat will end as the temperature gradually rises into double digits today.
It’s also tracking a system that could bring southern Ontario a significant amount of freezing rain midday Saturday and into Sunday morning.
It says some areas could get 20 millimetres of freezing rain this weekend and total precipitation, including just rain, of over 50 millimetres.
